St Paul’s Church is the community of Christians who worship at the church building in Hamble Road and The Barnabas Centre, which ministers to the wider neighbourhood as part of the Church of England. The buildings are used by the church for a variety of services, meetings, children’s work and community events arranged by church members along with other activities to further the mission of the church.
In addition to accommodating the worshipping community, we believe our buildings provide opportunities for serving the communities in our neighbourhood. For this reason, St Paul’s Parish Church Council (PCC) permits guests to hire the church buildings when they are not being used for church purposes.
Our premises are available to groups, charities, businesses and public sector users for community and education purposes.
We have several rooms across 2 buildings which can be used for a variety of purposes.
Our main church building is excellent for larger groups, exercise classes, dance, concerts etc. The main hall can accommodate up to 150 seated in concert / conference style, or 80 around tables or where movement around the building is needed. The hall has a wooden floor making it suitable for a wide range of uses. Next to the main hall is a smaller side chapel which can accommodate up to 20 for meetings etc.
The Barnabas Centre has carpeted floors with a medium-sized back room accommodating up to 40 people and smaller front room accommodating up to 16 people, both suitable for meetings and smaller groups.
All rooms are fitted with modern LED lighting and Wi-Fi is available. Folding tables and upholstered chairs are available in all rooms and there are kitchen facilities and toilets (including accessible and baby change) available in both buildings. We have a small car park on site, (10 spaces), and there is plenty of on-street parking in the vicinity.
Tariffs are currently from £22.00 per hour for the church hall and £14.00 per hour for rooms in the Barnabas Centre. For one-off bookings please contact the administrator to discuss our tariffs. For regular bookings by charities, a discount on our tariffs may be available in the Barnabas Centre. Smaller rooms may be hired on their own, subject to availability. Unfortunately we do not accept bookings for parties, family gatherings and activities with a non-Christian ethos. We don’t accept bookings for yoga or large scale community events.
